Morris is a native of Asheville, NC. He and his wife Pam have two grown sons. Zach, 24, who lives and works in New York City, and Caleb, 20, who lives and goes to college in Greensboro, NC. Morris has a passion for helping people connect faith with their everyday lives. He is also passionate about golf and the music of "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen!

Johnny was born in Florida but has considered North Carolina home since the age of eleven. He and his wife Angie have three daughters, Stephanie, Denise, and Katie. Johnny is a second career Pastor and has had the pleasure of serving at BRUMC since 2003. Johnny loves Jesus and he is energized when he sees another person finding the love that God has for them. After Jesus, his passions include his family, Florida Gator Sports Teams, and Sun Valley Spartan Football.

My husband Barry and I met at Downers Grove UMC, our home church, in Illinois while still in high school – many years ago. When our oldest son, Christopher, began going to preschool here we felt at home the first Sunday! We have a second son, Daniel, that also attended our preschool. Chris recently married Cassie and Daniel married Kandice on October 1st! We love Blair Road Church and feel very blessed to call this home.
Hobbies: reading and crafts

What I do for fun: Get together with friends and family. Spend a week with kids at camp! Watch my son’s play baseball and my nieces play softball, watch ACC Basketball

 Angie is originally from eastern North Carolina and as a child lived between the farms of Seven Springs to the high lights of Atlanta, GA. Angie chose to call Atlanta home and worked for GTE and U-Haul before becoming a stay at home mom. She volunteered with the PTA and did a little substitute teaching until 1997 when her family moved to Charlotte. After teaching in the preschool for 5 years, Angie became the Preschool Director in 2004 and then the After School Director in 2010. Her husband, Johnny also serves Blair Road UMC as the Associate Pastor and they have three beautiful daughters!Angie loves going to Friday night football games and cheering for the Florida Gators.

LeeAnn McBrayer
Youth Director
LeeAnn grew up in Charlotte, first attending the Blair Road Preschool, then Bain, Northeast, and Butler. She has been passionate about serving in Youth Ministry and has done so since 2005 after getting her undergrad degree at Greensboro College, and her Masters in Christian Education at Pfeiffer University. She is married to Preston McBrayer, and they have two Children, Kale (2) and Ayla who is an infant. LeeAnn and Preston served youth overseas in New Zealand for a year from 2008-2009 and are passionate about international missions. LeeAnn loves to stay active playing sports, spending time at the lake, and going to the beach.

Paula, although born in Greenville, SC, she has lived the majority of her life in Charlotte, NC. She met her husband Tim in Chapel Hill, NC where they both graduated from UNC. Go Tarheels! They enjoy spending time watching their son Sean (12) play baseball and their daughter Reilly (9) compete in gymnastics. Paula worked as a Director of Sales and Marketing in the hospitality industry prior to staying at home with her kids. She enjoys volunteering at school and church as well as hitting the tennis court whenever she can. She and her family are active members at St. Luke’s Catholic church, but love being a part of Blair Road’s basketball program and Girl Scouts.

Becky Cray graduated from Queens College and has enjoyed a successful career as a choral director. Teaching for over 15 years, her choirs received both national and international acclaim. Highlights include performing at the Vienna Youth Music Festival, conducting at Lincoln Center, and performing for the Paris bicentennial. Becky has been employed as a church musician since the age of 16, working with adult, children, and youth choirs. She has served as guest conductor for the Bonclarken Music Conference in Flat Rock, NC, and served many years as adjudicator for the N.C. Music Educators Association. She enjoys musical theatre, and coaching students who are pursuing a career in the arts. Her favorite pastime is watching her family, Pat, Corey and Natalie perform. She is thankful for the love and support of her Blair Road family.

Rita Mabes is our Organist and Children's Music Director. She has been married to Tim for 26 years, and they have three grown children. Tim, Jr. lives in Mississippi, Christine is in Richmond, Virginia, and Alex is a student at NC State. Rita also teaches piano at Charlotte Academy of Music. When she is not busy with her music, she enjoys reading, scrapbooking and spending time with her family and friends. Rita hopes to one day learn to play the harmonica, although she has tried before and was not successful!

Pat Cray has been in the music business for over twenty-five years. As a vocalist, keyboardist, and violinist, he has produced music for radio, television, churches, and various artist from coast to coast. Not only a concert artist, Pat has been apart of the Christian Entertainment Business for many years, working directly with artist Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Keith Green, Joe English, Becky Hyde, and Gary Chapman. He is also a featured vocalist for UAV Entertainment, Sound Choice Studio Productions and featured artist for the Raggs Kids Club project. Pat has served as musical director for several churches. He enjoys playing for local and regional theatre productions. His children Corey and Natalie keep him busy when he's not rehearsing or performing. He enjoys working with his wife Becky here at Blair Road UMC.
