What is Appalachia Service Project?

Appalachia Service Project(ASP) was founded in 1969 by United Methodist Rev Glenn “Tex” Evans to make homes warmer, safer, and drier for families in need in Central Appalachia.

  • ASP believes all people should be able to live in affordable, safe, and sanitary housing.

  • ASP believes that each person is a child of God imbued with dignity and worth.

  • ASP accepts people right where they are and just the way they are.

  • ASP believes in ministering in the spirit of love, acceptance, and hopefulness.
