Nursery and Preschool:  8:45, 10:00, and 11:11 am     
Nursery:  Birth - 17 months*
Preschool Small Groups:
     8:45 am - 18 months - 4 year olds
     10:00 am - 18 months - 2 year olds, 3 and 4 year olds
     11:00 am - 18 months - 4 years
 
Elementary Small Groups:  10:00 am
Grouped:  K-1st   2nd-3rd   4th-5th
 
Students enjoy a variety of activities including music, arts and crafts, drama, storytelling, and video.
 
All lessons are based on Bible scripture.  Our goal is to prepare our kids to invite others to the faith,
to form them in their faith, and to prepare them to be strong in their Christian faith in a secular world.
 
*The age for promotion into a Preschool Class is dependent on the child's readiness.
 
A variety of Adult Classes meet at 10:00 am in the Christian Education Building.

Safe Sanctuary Policy

  
God calls us to make our churches safe places, protecting children and other vulnerable persons from any kind of abuse.
God calls us to create communities of faith where children and adults grow safe and strong. 
 
At Blair Road UMC, we take safety very seriously.  In fact, we consider it one of our primary responsiblities in ministry.
 
In response to this committment we have Safe Sanctuary Policies that reduce the risk of abuse.
 
Key Points of Our Policy Include:
1.  Background checks on all persons that work with children or youth.
2.  Two people in every room.  Where not possible, a monitor will be present and the door will remain open.
3.  Staff is trained in CPR and First Aid.
4.  Persons working with children or youth must be regularly attending for 6 months.
5.  All children and youth ministry staff will be trained in policies.

This is an active hour of sharing and developing lasting friendships.

A ministry for reaching families and individuals with special needs.
 
Our purpose at Blair Road is to share the love of Jesus Christ with "All God's Children".  We encourage families to worship and fellowship with the assurance that the needs of all their children are being met in their age and skill-appropriate classroom.  We will share the Good News of the Gospel to all children so that they may grow in their faith.  All will grow in understanding  of Jesus Christ, each other, and the gifts God has given to each one of us.
 
"We all have different gifts, according to the grace given to us."  Romans 12:6a
 
Preregistration is encouraged.  All children are unique.  Therefore, we ask that you give us as much information as you can about your child by completing our registration form.  Our program contact information is below.  If you would like to arrange a tour of our facilities, please call the church office (704-545-6785, ext. 202).  At this time, we can only accomodate our special needs children at the 10:00 and 11:11 hours.

Ministry Opportunities

 We have the following opportunities:
Sunday Morning:
Teacher for preschool at 11:11 am (This is a 2-Sunday per month committment.) 
Nursery Coordinator
We are in need of someone to coordinate the nursery assistants on Sunday morning.  Duties would include weekly emails to remind assistants, helping assistants find replacements if they are unable to cover their time slot, and assist in replacing assistants that are unable to continue in nursery ministry. 
Creative Coordinator:
Responsible for bulletin board updates.  We have two large bulletin boards in our Christian Ed. Building.  Materials are supplied. 
Children's Ministry Support Ministries:
Our Children's Committee could use more ministers in the following areas:
         *Hospitality
         *Prayer Warriors
         *Missions
         *Evangelism

         *Special Events
