Greetings in the name of Christ!  We pray your holiday celebrations are safe and healthy for families and loved ones.

We share some recent and prayerful deliberations by our Return To Fellowship Team.

In light of worsening COVID conditions in NC, Mecklenburg County and even our Mint Hill Zip Code 28227, we have made the difficult decision to change our Sunday worship from indoor to outdoor, beginning Dec. 6.  We will offer drive-in services at 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM each Sunday until further notice (Nov. 29 worship will be virtual only).

N.C. Public Health officials and our WNC Conference leadership have asked congregations and houses of worship to seriously re-consider indoor worship.

With the coronavirus surging in most locations, our best witness to our community and to one another is to take every precaution to help reduce the spread of the virus to protect our most vulnerable friends, family and fellow church members.

Understanding that we are all interconnected in relation to the virus, this witness also extends to our health care workers and facilities. We must do all in our power to avoid overwhelming hospital emergency rooms and ICUs.

The best way to help is to avoid contracting the virus. The second best way to help is to be sure we do not spread infection.

We realize COVID-19 has taken a serious economic and psychological toll on all of us. The uncertainty of businesses and schools functioning safely, the changes in our daily habits and routines, the distance from loved ones who may be sick or in need are all tough burdens to bear. These last 9 months have been difficult.

While vaccines and related remedies are progressing in an accelerated and hopeful manner, best estimates are that these will be ready for wide distribution in spring of next year. The long winter months will be our toughest test yet. We must remain vigilant and determined.

So, we covet your prayers and cooperation as we continue to wear masks, social distance, avoid large indoor gatherings and wash our hands frequently.

Our faith and trust in God remains strong! The love and grace of Christ will see us through!

Thank you,

The Return To Fellowship Team
